Country singer Tim McGraw was all smiles while he greeted fans and signed autographs in Universal City, California today, April 27, 2015. He was at Universal Studios Hollywood to make an appearance on the entertainment television show Extra. Tim has recently drawn major criticism from conservative gun rights supporters over his upcoming performance at a benefit for Sandy Hook Promise, which is a non-profit group that was founded by family members who lost loved ones in the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
Their aim is to protect children from gun violence by focusing on prevention, early identification and intervention for possible mental illness, social and emotional development and firearm safety and security. They also create programs to help the community through the tragedy. After Breitbart.com published an article falsely calling it a “gun control fundraiser”, Tim did an interview with ABC News, letting his fans and critics know that his participation in the event was completely personal and had nothing to do with firearm politics.
